The Outdoor Spring Clean-Up

When most people think about Spring cleaning, they only really think about cleaning the inside of the house. However, Spring is also a great time to work on the outside your property too. Read on to find out which additional services we recommend this time of year to compliment the usual Spring landscaping tasks to be done.

Repairing Hardscaping – This past winter we faced record cold temperatures. Harsh winter weather can wreak havoc on your stone retaining walls, borders, driveways, walkways, and stoops. If you have any cracking or uneven areas, it’s best to repair them now before they get worse. And once these areas are repaired, why not add a beautifully planted flower pot to get into the spirit of Spring?

Power Washing – Dirt and grime build up can make your home, patio, and driveway look older than they actually are. Having a professional power wash these areas not only saves you time, but also ensures that you do not end up damaging any of these surfaces.   A good power washing once a year can do wonders for the overall appearance of your property.

Cleaning Gutters – Take a look at your gutters. Are they full of leaves or broken branches that fell due to all the snow? With Spring showers in full force, it’s important that your gutters are flowing well. If your gutters are clogged, the rain water will either spill over your gutters or underneath your roof line, which can cause significant damage in the long run.

Replacing Mulch – Do your planting beds look like they need a face lift? An easy fix is replacing faded or thinned-out mulch with 2-4 inches of fresh mulch to spruce up a tired-looking landscape.  Having the proper mulch depth will also help keep weeds from growing in your beds, and this will also improve their appearance throughout the season.
